Postponed: A Library of Olfactive Materials, Glasgow

  • A Library of Olfactive Materials 28 St Andrews St Glasgow (map)

This event is postponed until further notice.

From crashing waves and chirping birds, to meadows of unfurling petals in every rain sprinkled hue, to weathered hands harvesting juicy fruits for their sugars, writers have long been trying to make palpable the delights of the natural world. However, often overlooked is the most ancient and evocative of our human senses - smell. Fragrances drift through the air day and night, swirling into our bodies and sending us secret messages; they create and unlock memories, subconsciously shaping our connection to the landscape around us.

From April 1-18 The Nature Library will be situated at A Library of Olfactive Materials in Glasgow with a collection of books evoking the aromas of the natural world. Together we invite visitors to immerse themselves in the words and scents that fill the shelves and aim to invite a fun and fascinating new way of paying attention to nature, encouraging a brightening of the senses and in turn, of the world around you.
